Eric Siebert, a VMware evangelist, vExpert, blogger, book author, techno geek, motorcycle rider and a great guy posted a blog on it knowledge exchang blogsite about why we should use vShield Zones.
As intro he say's, VMware introduced vShield Zones as part of the vSphere release along with VMware Data Recovery as a value-added product that is available in certain editions. He spent a lot of time checking out the product which motivated him to writing a series of tips about it. Follow the story here.

Licensing is by far, the most misunderstood, confusing, and sometimes frustrating part of vSphere and vCenter, and generates a ton of calls into support. And we've noticed. Today the Knowledgebase Team released another video KB: Licensing ESX 4.0, ESXi 4.0, and vCenter 4.0 We anticipate this KB will become a heavy-hitter before long.
