Merry Christmas and all the best for 2013
Another year passed by. And that said we leave 2012 behind.
So what happend in 2012. A few things going through my mind, Cloud, Transformation, Big Data and Software Defined Datacenters. Despite that Cloud still is a buzz word it starts to get seriues shapes. SaaS, PaaS, IaaS as service models and Hybride, Public, Privat and Community as deployment models. Many vendors are investing heavily in these solutions. So this movie will not go away! The technology is ready. But you can see that there are many discussions regarding Governance, Compliancy and Risks. In particular, in the EU is this a Hot topic. But in a few years (new generation) we all agree to this. Together with this Cloud Stuff comes Transformation. The way we work will change. Maybe not tomorrow and the day after. But in the near future it will. As you can see all big companies are pushing us in one direction. You don't have much choice here. But in a way I think it's a good way.
Big Data. What in Gods name is Big Data? I have no idea. I know it's a lot of data generated by lots systems and not analyzed. But that's about it. So we'll see how things turn out. On the other hand theirs Software. The Software Defined Data Center is an unified data center platform that provides unprecedented automation, flexibility, and efficiency to transform the way you deliver IT. Compute, storage, networking, security, and availability services are pooled, aggregated, and delivered as software. Software is in, hardware out! While many data center operations remain constrained by dependencies between software and hardware, IT continues to progress toward greater simplicity and flexibility. When Cloud shifting will be the new trend you would not be tied-up to hardware. Ultimately lies in hardware also software.
Personally, this was again an eventful year with many innovatives and intense but great and fun projects. The Cloud Architect course in Dallas, USA from EMC gave me some good and new insights. The expert course IT-as-a-Service is up next. Just as last year I was nominated as VMware vExpert which is just awesome and cool. This nomination provides me a lot of possibilities that I can properly use for further personal growth and development. EMC announced a new and similar recognition program called EMC Elect. I hope I'll be nominated for this too and they see how much I am an ambassador for them. 2013 will hopefully be an exciting year for me as well.
Not to forget, a big thanks to all my readers. Despite the fact I started this website for a personal note to myself it became more then that. I am more than proud that this website gets lots of visitors from all parts of the world. Therefore, this site has become more than just a personal note to myself. I am always open to new things, things that can be improved, or anything else what's on your mind. If you have good ideas do not hesitate to report them to me.
Last but not least I want a special thanks to my Sponsors who making things possible. I wish them all the best and good businesses for 2013.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and even a better New Year!
