Big changes for the Dutch VMUG
As you all might have noticed, there are some changes happening at the NL VMUG. As of June 15th, the Customer Council continue with the Dutch VMUG under the flag of the international VMUG organization.
The VMUG in the Netherlands was founded in 2004 by XTG employees. XTG is an independent training center for official practice for Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, NetApp, VMware and RES Software. They had the pleasure to organize this annual event for many years. They have done a great job providing more then 700 people over the past few years. But as mentioned by Duncan Epping in his article, the Dutch VMUG was not a VMUG like any other VMUG in the world.
Together with VMware Benelux and international VMUG they are busy behind the scenes to convert from XTG's VMUG to the Official Dutch VMUG to make this transition as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, this means that there will be a number of things that change. The old website, www.vmug.nl (Hosted by XTG) and @dutchvmug Twitter account are no longer responsable for the Dutch VMUG as you know it. As of June 15, there will be a new website, www.nlvmug.com and a new Twitter account, @nlvmug.
I personally hope it brings back the user spirit. In the end it's an User event for Users by Users.
