EVO:RAIL. VMware announced the availability of the program stating “We developed the VMware EVO:RAIL vSphere Loyalty Program to allow our VMware vSphere customers to apply their licenses to the purchase of VMware EVO:RAIL appliances from our nine Qualified EVO:RAIL Partners. This program enables our customers to preserve their existing investment in VMware software, while reducing their overall cost of an VMware EVO:RAIL appliance purchase.”
This programs means that customers who with VMware licenses that were obtained through Enterprise Licensing Agreements (ELAs) , OEM partners, distribution or other resale channels are eligible for the program. Customers will also require a minimum of 8 CPU vSphere Enterprise Plus licenses to commit to one VMware EVO:RAIL appliance.
While VMware have announced the program they have not provided a mechanism to support its implementation. If a customer does however want to use their ELA or otherwise acquired VMware licenses in this program with VSPEX BLUE the reseller and their distribution partner should request special pricing from EMC and it will be handled accordingly.

VSPEX BLUE vLab now open for business
Besides trying out EVO:RAIL via VMware Hands-on lab there is also the possibility to try out a brand-new VSPEX BLUE EMC vLab. vLabs are available to most partners who need to show a demonstration of EMC technologies and solutions without having to have any equipment on hand. Partners can remotely access the vLab environment from the comfort of their office or customer’s site and choose from many existing VSPEX demos or now the new VSPEX BLUE hyperconverged appliance.
Simple Install The installation experience of EVO:RAIL and VSPEX BLUE is always a compelling one for it show cases the simplicity of the solution and how easy the appliance is to configure out of the box.
As part of the vLab a customer will also have the opportunity to explore the appliance in the VSPEX BLUE manager and understand how alerting and notifications are displayed and how a customer would interact with support.
