Last year EMC announced a new recognition program called EMC Elect. This program provides community driven recognition to individuals who had demonstrated the highest levels of commitment to thought leadership in the fields of data center management, Cloud computing, and big data. 75 Jedi Masters were selected in the first EMC elect badge last year. The list of members and official announcement can be found here
Just nominated for the first badge of EMC Elect members, the second already arrive. I was able to attend EMCWorld in Las Vegas this year and EMC gave the Elect members preferential treatment on many fronts. There were many private events for EMC Elect only. A private hangout lounge and cool private parties which enabled the opportunity to meet many others. Last but not least, our own EMC Elect polo shirts.
As mentioned, EMC Elect 2014 nominations opened on May 7th - November 15th. The 2014 class of EMC Elect will be announced on January 15th. You can recommend yourself or a fellow community member.

- Join and regularly contribute to the EMC Community Network
- Maintain a strong social and technical community on Twitter
- Expand into new domains of interest in your social community
- Start a blog where you talk about your trials, errors and expertise on EMC products
